TLDG Welcomes, Annie Havniear (USMA 2001) - Program ManagerMonday, January 13, 2014
Anne “Annie” Havniear (USMA, ’01) is joining the Thayer Leadership Development Group as a Program Manager. Annie is a former soccer and team handball player for the United States Military Academy, where she majored in Spanish and Portuguese and commanded Company F1. After being commissioned as an Engineer Officer, she served in US Army Alaska as a Vertical Construction Platoon Leader, Executive Officer, and the aide to the Deputy Commander of US Army Alaska. While Annie turned in her uniform after 5 years of active duty, she continued to serve the military. As a military spouse, she led Family Readiness Groups and worked as an educational trainer for the Military Child Education Coalition. Additionally, she became a certified Montessori teacher and taught for 4 years at Montessori Schools located in Louisiana and Washington. Her Montessori background coupled with her leadership skills enabled her to successfully implement a new Toddler Program in a large school in Central Louisiana. She resides in Cornwall, NY and looks forward to rediscovering the East Coast. Annie is married to Ron Havniear (USMA, ’99) and has three sons and a daughter.
