Upon graduation from the U.S. Military Academy in 1983, Ken began his career in the Infantry. Ken led units in dynamic, high-risk, fast-paced, and ambiguous environments during six combat tours in Iraq and Afghanistan, peacekeeping in the Balkans, and refugee relief in Turkey and Iraq. He was intimately involved in planning many significant operations, such as the northern front portion of the Iraq invasion; targeting of Al Qaeda in Iraq from 2006-2010; development of Iraqi Special Operations Forces; and restructuring the advisory effort in Afghanistan in 2013. As a Green Beret, he spent much of his career advising and assisting foreign partners in developing their own high-performing teams and building effective organizational processes. He has worked extensively with partners in the Middle East, Europe, and the Western Hemisphere.
