Lewis was born in Charlotte, North Carolina but was raised in Rochester, New York. Upon graduating from high school in 2013, he enlisted in the United States Army as an active duty combat engineer. His duty station for 3 years was the 101st Airborne Division located at Fort Campbell, Kentucky and included deployment to Kandahar Province, Afghanistan in 2014 for 9 months. After separating from the military in 2016, he enrolled at SUNY Buffalo State College. He graduated with a B.A. in Political Science, concentration in Public Legal Studies and minor in Intelligence Analysis. This granted him the opportunity to travel to organizations such as the United Nations, Council on Foreign Relations, and the United States Congress. Prior work experience includes being a sports coach at the YMCA, counselor, and activity specialist. In his free time, he enjoys exercising, traveling, watching sports, and covering politics/military affairs. He is a big fan of the New Orleans Saints, New York Yankees, and Chelsea FC in international soccer. The goals he has set for himself include earning his master’s degree and running for a political office or federal government position.
