Assistant Program Manager
Kelsey Fitzsimons recently started her position with Thayer Leadership as an Assistant Program Manager. As a lifelong resident of the Hudson Valley, she is excited to work with thought leaders from around the world to bring new opportunities to her community. Kelsey attended State University of New York (SUNY) at Oswego, receiving a Bachelor of Arts degree in Human Development, cum laude in 2015. During her time at SUNY Oswego, Kelsey worked as a Teaching Assistant, interned at a local nursing home as the Assistant to the Director of Activities, and interned with the Director of Operations at a local after-school program. A well-rounded athlete, Kelsey played Varsity Softball and Soccer in High School and Division III Soccer in college, making the NJCAA all-region team.
Since graduating, Kelsey moved back to the Hudson Valley and focused on youth development in the Highland Falls-West Point community by coaching soccer, basketball, and softball for the local High School, James I. O’Neill. She also taught preschool, full-time, at the Child Development Center located on the grounds of West Point. Kelsey is also very interested in business and has worked in the food and beverage department at The Historic Thayer Hotel over the last 7 years. She has worn many different hats at the Thayer Hotel, including bartending and supervising, and, most recently, served as the Social and Corporate Events Manager, successfully putting on over 100 weddings and corporate events.
During her free time, Kelsey enjoys playing sports, hiking, cooking, and spending time with her family and friends. She looks forward to growing with Thayer Leadership in her new role.
